ICE Health Systems Release Summary 42.0

We are pleased to announce the release of ICE 42.0.

We are grateful to the members of the Collaboration for Health IT as well as the many private clinicians and staff who have and continue to lead this project with ICE Health Systems. Our goal is to serve the world of healthcare with excellence through a system that is built for the needs of today and tomorrow. This release is the next step in achieving our collective goal.

New Features

  • Notifications
    • A notification system has been implemented. There is a new icon of a bell in the upper right corner (to the left of Search), that when selected displays a list of the 25 most recent notifications. With this release, data import/export job notifications have been implemented (e.g. import, dry run, export, etc). In future releases, other areas within ICE will be incorporated into the notifications (e.g. Mail Merge, Insurance Batch Submissions, etc).
  • Reporting
    • Ability to query on procedures (dental codes only) in more detail and for most recent estimates.
      • The following Search Fields have been added or enhanced, along with the following Option Columns in the Procedure List report:
        • Code (ability to search by more than just “Contains”)
        • Code Category
        • Code Definition (Code Description)
        • Code Set
        • Treatment Phase
        • Full Estimate
        • Insurance Estimate
        • Patient Estimate
      • The Search Fields have also been added to the Individual List report (under Procedure Search fields).
    • Additional Group By Options for Chart or Aggregate Results are now available in the following reports “Reason for Treatment” and “Procedure List”.
      • The new Group By Options are “Provider Chart #” and “Code Category”.


  • Data Import/Export
    • Performance improvements.
  • Mail Merge
    • Added the ability to track failed mail merge processes.
  • System
    • With the introduction of a Notifications system, the icon for the Collaborations in the upper right corner (to the left of Search) has been updated. It is now an envelope icon with a red badge for the number of unread messages.
    • Warning, Success and Error notifications (messages that appear in the lower right corner) have also been updated in terms of look.  There are now icons used for Success (checkmark), Warning (exclamation mark) and Error (circle with ‘x’) notifications, so that the messages are no longer differentiated solely on colour.


  • E-Submissions
    • Fixed issue with failure of large insurance batch claims submission.
    • Significantly improved loading time for review of claims in Insurance Batch Claim list.
  • Financials
    • Fixed issue where charges were not showing up until refresh.
  • Insurance
    • Fixed issues related to expired policies on manually created claims.
  • Mail Merge
    • Fixed issue with refresh from Mail Merge panel available on Practice Dashboard.
    • For either EDI statement (Mail Merge) or Ad Hoc Statement (Patient Financials Panel), if they are run as a Single Statement, then ICE checks if the branding is set on the selected clinic group. An error message results if the branding is not set.
  • Reporting
    • Fixed an issue in the Audit Log report when selecting the Event Date/Time with “Equals” option set to current date.
    • Fixed issue for Document Submission results where sorting by date/time within the same day was incorrect.
    • Fixed issue in the Individual Health Facts search where “Conditions” were not being saved in a template.
    • Fixed issue of ordering Detailed Results when using Score as an order option.
