ICE Health Systems Release Summary 53.0

We are pleased to announce the release of ICE 53.0.

We are grateful to the members of the Collaboration for Health IT as well as the many private clinicians and staff who have and continue to lead this project with ICE Health Systems. Our goal is to serve the world of healthcare with excellence through a system that is built for the needs of today and tomorrow. This release is the next step in achieving our collective goal.

  • Scheduling
    • The Provider Appointments panel can now be filtered to find appointments by:
      • Clinic
      • Patient
      • Appointment Type
      • Appointment Status
      • Provider
      • Resource
      • Clinic group
    • Note that future plans include the ability to filter on the Patient Next Visits Panel and to sort on both panels.


  • Documents
    • For documents that include a question to add a medication, the cursor will now automatically be in the search for medication field once the “Select Medication” window opens.
    • There is now explanatory text to indicate why the document template list is blank when creating a new document.
    • When creating a new document, the template description (if defined in Practice Settings) is now shown below the template name to provide further context/information to the user.
  • Health Facts
    • Allergies now have the same significance options as conditions and medications.
  • Notifications
    • The automatic creation of a collaboration for the following actions in ICE has been replaced by a notification message (top right bell icon):
      • Sending/Receiving a Referral
      • Creating/Invited to a Telehealth Session
      • Assigning/Being assigned a form
      • Sharing/Receiving a Panel View (with an indication of which menu area, e.g. Practice)
      • Sharing/Receiving a Report Template
    • For select notifications, an action will occur if a user clicks on it.  For example:
      • Open the referral as a pop-up
      • Join the Telehealth Session
      • Open the form as a pop-up
  • Progress Notes
    • Ability to sort (ASC or DESC) on Created Date, Treatment Date and Last Modified.
      • Note an inconsistent issue when sorting by Modify Date is being addressed in an upcoming sprint.
  • Treatment Planning
    • Ability to quickly add multiple teeth to the General Odontogram filter by holding the Shift key while clicking the teeth.
    • The Treatment and Informed Consent Required popover rule statements are now clickable and start the consent process.
    • When a re-consent is required, the consent link text indicates it clearly.


  • Financials
    • Fixed a loading issue of the Orthodontic Payment Plan Procedure estimate screen.
  • Panels
    • Adjusting the width of a collapsed panel will no longer adjust its height.
  • Practice Branding
    • Fixed the issue of decreased quality of a large logo image after uploading to ICE.
  • Practice Settings
    • Addressed table sizes in areas of Practice Settings due to the recent UI/UX style improvements.
  • Reporting
    • Fixed the “internal server error” when searching with the option “Between” and leaving the second input field blank.
    • Selections remain when dropdown is changed from “In List” to “Not in List”.
  • Scheduling
    • Search for providers/resources will show text of “Searching …” and will only display “No results.” when no results are found.
    • When there is only one Appointment Type associated with a Clinic, appointments created with that Clinic selected will have the Appointment Type automatically filled.
    • If you select the Patient menu and haven’t accessed a record in your current session, the cursor now focuses in the main Search box and still provides you with the bottom right notification message.  Similarly selecting the Individual or External Provider menus will focus the cursor in the search box.
  • Treatment Planning
    • Fixed an issue where the word “Procedures” was missing from the end of “In Progress” as a filter status option on the Odontogram, Treatment Planning and General Procedure List panel filters.
    • The use of the term “Conditions” has been replaced with “Findings” throughout ICE for consistency.
    • When entering findings on areas, the right and left quadrant/sextant checkboxes are now in the appropriate locations.
  • User Experience
    • Bottom right notification headings are now accurately referencing either Patient Management or Individual Management.
    • Various alignment and other visual issues throughout ICE were addressed.
