ICE Health Systems Release Summary 70.0

We are pleased to announce the release of ICE 70.0.

New

  • Collaboration Sharing Center
  • Demographics (Patient/Provider/Individual/External Provider)
    • The demographics pages have been rebuilt in the new, more robust framework being used throughout ICE.
    • Speed of loading and entering demographic information has been significantly improved.
    • The workflow and layout of entering contact methods has been streamlined as follows:
      • Separate areas are available to immediately add an address, phone number or email.
      • Once a user has added one contact method, for example a phone number, then new fields are added so that a second phone number can be added if desired.
      • Placeholder text appears for all contact information fields. 

Improved

  • Documents
    • Both date and time are recorded and displayed once a document has been signed in a signature field. 
    • Signature fields now include placeholder text so that users know where to sign.
  • Item Notes
    • Areas with buttons that indicate “View Item Notes” are now showing a count of the total number of notes. For example, on the Patient Referral and Financial Administrative Charge screens, the button now indicates the count, e.g. “View Item Notes (3)”.
  • Odontogram/Dentition
    • From the Odontogram panel and the Findings input window, there is a gear icon (hover text “Odontogram Settings”) that provides the user with various display settings and one action “Reset Dentition”.
      • One such setting “Enable Zoom”, when set to ON, will zoom to the tooth when hovering (previously was zooming each quadrant or sextant).
      • There is now a “Reset Dentition” button that will update the dentition based on what is expected for the current age. This is very useful when a user accidentally created a patient with the incorrect date of birth.
    • Please note: The Manage Dentition button from the top left corner from all three Charting Menus is no longer present. To manage a patient’s dentition, you can simply click on the four arrow icon (hover text “Enable Edit Mode”) from either the Odontogram panel or the Findings input window.
  • Orthodontic and Periodontal Charting
    • To allow for easier workflows, the following panels are now available from the Orthodontic and Periodontal Charting workspaces:
      • Treatment Planning
      • General Odontogram
      • General Procedure List
  • Patient Management
    • The options for patient gender have been updated and a field for birth sex added based on recommended research and guidelines from the UCSF Center for Excellence for Transgender Health and the Trans* Toolkit from the Canadian Aids Society. Collecting accurate and appropriate gender related data enhances ICE’s commitment to professionalism and dignity in patient care as well as improving health for all individuals and all communities.
      • These gender related fields, along with pronouns, are available for any individual within the ICE system (Patients, Providers, External Providers, Individuals).
  • Scheduling
    • Clinic name now shows in a tooltip when hovering over any availability block in the schedule grid.
  • Top Menu
    • Top menu icons have been reorganized using drop down menus.
      • Click on the logged-in user’s name and options include:
        • My Profile
        • Enter Full Screen
        • Open in New Tab
        • Logout
          • Please note: LOGOUT has been removed from the top row.  To logout, select your name in the top menu and then LOGOUT.

      • Click on new “Help Centre” question mark icon and options include:
        • ICE Help
        • Send Feedback
        • Take a Screenshot

  • Treatment Planning
    • Visuals on the odontogram have been updated for extraction procedure codes.
    • When adding findings or treatments to a missing tooth, the surfaces are no longer available for selection.

Fixed

  • Data Import/Export
    • Document template import issue has been addressed.
    • Fixed issues related to orthodontic imports.
  • Financials
    • Fixed some issues related to printing claims.
    • When an invalid date is used in the make a payment screen, there is now a useful error provided so that the user can modify and continue.
  • Patient Management
    • Patient names will now be consistently displayed on the mini patient card using the Standard Name.
  • Practice Settings
    • Fixed issue of new clinic group creation not saving immediately.
  • Progress Notes
    • Fixed the issue of Progress Notes not displaying with particular date setting formats used in practice settings.
  • Provider/Individual/External Provider Management
    • Fixed the issue where selecting a date using the calendar date picker on non-patient demographics would automatically navigate to logged-in provider’s dashboard page.
  • Reporting
    • Fixed the issue of “error generating audit summary” being displayed in Audit Log reports.
    • Fixed the issue where dates selected in search fields of new and existing report templates, were not appearing when a saved template was opened.
  • System
    • When invalid or random numbers are typed into various date fields throughout the system, users are now provided with appropriate warning or error messages.
  • Telehealth
    • Addressed a performance issue when loading the session settings.
    • The issue of duplicate session participants appearing in session settings list has been resolved.
  • Treatment Planning
    • Addressed the intermittent slow performance in Charting, for example making changes to Dentition or adding Material/Diagnostic findings.

QA Testing

The Quality Assurance Team tested the following browser and OS configurations using the testing types listed below:

  • Google Chrome 75.0 (Mac OS Sierra & Windows) and Google Chromium 75.0 (Windows 10)
  • Unit Testing, Integration Testing, Cross Platform Testing, Usability Testing, End to End Testing, User Interface Testing, Regression (Manual and Automated) Testing, Re-Testing and Sanity Testing.
